Not too happy with this book. The book ‘Deep Nutrition’ explains how a vegan diet may make a small minority of people feel okay greeen the here and now, but this could be due in large part to the healthier non-vegan diet followed by your parents and grandparents, and why eating a strict vegan diet very low in protein and fat could be very detrimental to your offspring and their offspring, as your genes need real food.
This was the first book of many books that I have read that truly got me excited about greens again and gave me so many reasons.
She makes several technical errors in this book like saying that her Vita-Mix blender’s motor runs at speeds up to mph. I eat on a special food plan, and I cannot eat any sugar, flour, or dairy. I decided that she crossed those boundaries because of her enthusiasm for her subject matter. Ljfe are no discussion topics on this book yet.

Interestingly, Victoria’s somewhat intuitive interpretation of human evolution was backed up by science inwhen a new measuring technique used on preserved teeth showed that early human, long known as Nutcracker Man, was not actually cracking nuts with his massive jaw but rather chewing the young green ror that accompanied his fruit-based diet into a readily digestible paste. My favourite veggie side dish is a recipe I made up that has huge cooked bunches of spinach in, lemon juice, an avocado, some unrefined sea salt and a good drizzle of olive oil – all whizzed up in the food processor – just delicious!
Humans weren’t intended to drink the majority of their calories and that’s why there are no blenders in nature. Green smoothie testimonials and recipes give readers confidence and motivation in exploring green smoothies for themselves. But in the garden it’s often feast or famine. A good choice for everyone’s personal library. I suggest you try some of the recipes in the back of the book, doubling or tripling the greens to grren ratio if you feel so inclined I do.

Fortunately, I have a feeling that this earlier documentation of Victoria’s enthusiasm for the green smoothie lifestyle is fr as inspiring a read. In Green for Life, raw foods pioneer Victoria Boutenko presents an overlooked powerhouse of nutrition in this equation: So, my wife and I tried green smoothies, and at first glance they looked horrible!

I was glad to see that others have had the same initial reaction I had to wheat grass juice and also glad to know that my tolerance and fondness for less-sweet green smoothies will likely increase with time Acids are not high pH, but low pH.
We haven’t yet made any other modifications to our diet but I have found that I have more energy and I haven’t been “over-eating” like I tended to previously.
What I was hoping to get was a more complete or comprehensive picture – she gives I really enjoyed this quick read, especially with my recent noutenko kick. Good material Much needed information on nutrition!

She literally has pages and pages of inspiring testimonials, which is helpful for us as readers since we can pinpoint our trouble spot and then look through the book for a way to tackle it with the help of greens. Ror would have felt very ill and hypoglycemic eating the 4 serves of fruit in many of the smoothie recipes in this book, they were beyond sugary.
And in reading the book several of her assertions when combined really make a lot of sense. She is a raw foodist and a bit eccentric ie. Open Preview See a Problem? Since I had a very high trust level for my chiropractor’s wisdom I bought the book and became immersed in Boutenko’s nutrition journey of understanding. I couldn’t help but worry about her health as I read this book.
For those who have or can procure a Vitamix, here are my thoughts on “Green for Life”: Add all three to Cart Add all three to List. Now Victoria Boutenko is persuading me otherwise.
Each to their own, truly, but I just vichoria to put a warning out there for anyone being pressured to eat all raw and all vegan and feeling terrible while doing it. I make one every morning. Human behavior is very hard to change. Great information and lots of good ideas here.
